Great to meet you!

I am a Harvard-trained, board-certified psychiatrist dedicated to helping patients improve their mental health and overall well-being. I have authored numerous research papers and coauthored a bestselling book on mental health. My training includes fellowships at the National Institute of Mental Health (NIMH) and Columbia University, and I received my medical training at Harvard Medical School and UCLA. With extensive experience treating depression, ADHD, and anxiety disorders, I am well prepared to support a wide range of mental health needs.

I have also served as a medical director in multiple settings, helping ensure patients receive the highest quality of care.

I am certified in Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS) and have extensive experience with Esketamine treatments, offering innovative and effective options for individuals seeking relief when other treatments have not worked.

I believe in a comprehensive approach to care that goes beyond medication alone. I develop personalized treatment plans that may include medication management while also emphasizing the important role of exercise and nutrition in supporting mental health. My experience in both outpatient clinics and hospital settings has given me a deep understanding of the challenges patients face. Please note that patients who are prescribed a controlled substance will need to be seen on a monthly basis, and I do not complete disability forms.

Outside of my clinical work, I enjoy hiking and traveling with my family. I look forward to supporting you on your journey toward better mental health.

My approach to therapy

My approach to care is collaborative, personalized, and rooted in evidence-based medicine. I believe that effective mental health treatment starts with truly understanding each person’s unique history, goals, and challenges. I take time to listen carefully and work with you to create a treatment plan that feels supportive, practical, and aligned with your values.

I use a comprehensive approach that may include medication management when appropriate, while also emphasizing the important roles of lifestyle factors such as sleep, nutrition, exercise, and stress management in overall mental health. I aim to provide clear education about diagnoses and treatment options so you can make informed decisions about your care.

My experience across both outpatient and hospital settings has shaped a thoughtful, balanced perspective that considers the full picture of your well-being. My goal is to create a respectful, supportive environment where you feel heard, understood, and empowered throughout your treatment journey.

What you can expect from me

During your first session, you can expect a comprehensive and supportive psychiatric evaluation where we take time to discuss your current concerns, symptoms, medical and mental health history, and treatment goals. I focus on creating a comfortable, nonjudgmental space where you feel heard and understood.

We will work together to clarify your diagnosis and explore treatment options that fit your needs and preferences. If appropriate, we may discuss medication, lifestyle factors, and other evidence-based strategies that can support your mental health. You will have the opportunity to ask questions so you feel informed and confident about your care.

By the end of the session, you can expect a clear next-step plan and a collaborative path forward tailored to your goals.
