Great to meet you!

Hi, I’m Joncannon, a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist born and raised in San Diego. I earned my degrees from UC San Diego and Alliant International University, where I completed my training in Marriage and Family Therapy. I work with adults experiencing anxiety, depression, trauma, relationship difficulties, addiction, major life stressors, and more. My goal is to provide a supportive and nonjudgmental space where clients feel understood, challenged when appropriate, and empowered to make meaningful changes in their lives.

My approach to therapy

My approach to therapy is warm, collaborative, and individualized to each client’s unique needs and goals. I draw from psychodynamic, trauma-informed, attachment-based, and other integrative approaches to help clients better understand their emotions, relationships, patterns, and life experiences. I believe therapy is most effective when clients feel safe enough to explore themselves honestly while also developing practical insight and tools for change. I work to help clients build greater self-awareness, emotional resilience, healthier relationships, and a stronger sense of authenticity and direction in their lives.

What you can expect from me

In the first session, clients can expect a welcoming and nonjudgmental environment where we begin exploring what brings them to therapy and what they hope to gain from the process. I focus on understanding each person’s experiences, relationships, strengths, and current challenges while helping them feel comfortable moving at their own pace. Together, we will begin identifying patterns, goals, and areas of growth, while creating a collaborative plan for therapy that feels meaningful and manageable. My hope is that clients leave sessions feeling heard, understood, and more connected to themselves and their path forward.
