I believe optimal therapy is collaborative, authentic, and utilizes the here-and-now. I seek emotionally resonant moments between the client and myself—moments where you sense that I have an accurate and empathic understanding of your world and your experience. I believe these moments of resonance are a necessary component of therapy and contain the ability to undo aloneness and bring about clarity, coherence, and accelerated change.
I seek to convey warmth, empathy, and skillful attention. I enjoy being a real human—I may laugh, tear up, or broach uncomfortable or meaningful moments shared between us by slowing down and speaking directly about them. I value kindness, emotional security, and confrontation and believe they are not mutually exclusive.
Clients can expect to feel more solid and congruent after sessions. They can expect to find more of a grasp on their inner values and their inner voice. They can expect more self-worth and more self-compassion. Clients can expect to take away more coherence and peace regarding their past experiences and what they wish for in their future steps.
