Great to meet you!

Hi! My name is Jordan Pepper and I am a clinical mental health counselor licensed by the state of Ohio. I went to undergraduate and graduate school at Ohio University. Prior to becoming a counselor, I worked with crime victims as they navigated the criminal justice system. I have lots of experience working with domestic violence victims as well as helping families navigate custody issues.

My approach to therapy

I most definitely operate from a Client Centered approach to therapy. I like to find out where people are in terms of readiness to change and then meet them there. I find it helpful to check in regularly throughout therapy and see if clients prefer more direction, and I only assign homework when people want it.

What you can expect from me

My hope is for people to come away from sessions with a sense of hope and optimism. When progress is made during a session-for example, making a connection between thoughts, feelings, and actions- I encourage clients to look for those examples in between sessions. By doing so, people can actually make changes in the way they respond to the world, and ultimately how they feel!
