Great to meet you!

As a Licensed Professional Counselor, I've had the privilege of working with adults from many different backgrounds and stages of life. My experience includes supporting individuals and couples navigating anxiety, depression, trauma, addiction, grief, ADHD, personality disorders, relationship concerns, life transitions, LGBTQIA+ concerns, and those requiring crisis intervention or suicide prevention services. Much of my clinical work has been in higher-acuity settings, giving me experience helping people through some of the most difficult moments of their lives. Those experiences have reinforced my belief that people are far more than a diagnosis or the most difficult chapter of their lives. Every person has a unique story, strengths, and experiences, and I believe therapy should reflect that. My goal is to create a space where you feel seen, respected, and understood without judgment. Clients often describe me as genuine, approachable, and direct. I believe in having honest conversations while also offering compassion, support, and practical guidance. Whether you're feeling overwhelmed, stuck, or simply looking to better understand yourself, my goal is to help you build insight, strengthen your resilience, and create meaningful, lasting change.

My approach to therapy

One of the things I value most as a therapist is creating a space where you don't feel like you have to have everything figured out before you walk through the door. Therapy isn't about being judged, told what to do, or reduced to a diagnosis. It's about understanding who you are, what has shaped you, and finding a path forward that feels authentic to you. I believe that the therapeutic relationship is one of the most important parts of the healing process. My goal is to show up with curiosity, honesty, and consistency so you feel safe enough to be yourself—even when discussing the parts of your life that feel overwhelming or difficult to put into words. While I strive to create a supportive environment, I also believe growth often comes from being challenged. I'll meet you with empathy, but I won't simply tell you what you want to hear. Together, we'll explore patterns, build practical skills, and work toward helping you trust yourself rather than becoming dependent on therapy. My hope is that, over time, you'll leave our work together feeling more connected to yourself and more confident navigating life's challenges on your own.

What you can expect from me

Your first session is an opportunity for us to get to know one another and decide whether we're a good fit. I often tell clients, "You're a human, and I'm a human." My role isn't to have all the answers or tell you how to live your life. Instead, I'm here to understand your story with curiosity, compassion, and honesty while helping you make sense of what's bringing you to therapy. I don't expect you to trust me simply because I'm a therapist, and I don't believe a strong therapeutic relationship is built in a single session. Like any meaningful relationship, trust develops over time through consistency, authenticity, and open communication. I also don't expect you to tell me your entire life story during our first meeting. We'll move at a pace that feels comfortable while beginning to explore what has brought you here and what you hope to gain from therapy. By the end of our first session, my hope is that you'll leave with a better understanding of who I am as a therapist, how we might work together, and whether I feel like the right fit for you. If we decide to move forward, we'll begin identifying goals that are meaningful to you and create a plan that reflects your unique needs rather than a one-size-fits-all approach.
