Great to meet you!

I have been working in the field of mental health for eight years; four years working at an intermediate level of care within the hospital setting and four years as a Crisis Hotline Specialist at a local nonprofit mental health organization. I earned my Master of Arts degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Heidelberg University and my Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology from Ohio Wesleyan University. In my career thus far, I have served a wide range of folks, from 11-year-olds to 63-years-olds, from adjustment disorders to personality disorders.

My approach to therapy

I approach each client with the philosophy that you have expertise in you, and I have expertise in the field of mental health. When we put our knowledge together, we can collaborate and develop steps you can take to start living the life you want to live. My work draws from evidence-based approaches like Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TFCBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), and Motivational Interviewing, but I always tailor sessions to your unique needs and pace. Healing isn’t one-size-fits-all, and I want you to feel supported every step of the way.

What you can expect from me

Our first session will look like a typical diagnostic assessment in which I will ask you about your behavioral health and medical history, as well as other significant background information (trauma history, education history, significant life events, review of symptoms, etc.) to appropriately determine a mental health diagnosis. Additionally, I will brief you on my treatment style and modalities, as well as answer any questions you may have for me and the treatment process.
