Hello, my name is Jorge, and I'm here to support you on your journey to a healthier and more fulfilling life. As a Licensed Mental Health Counselor and Certified Addiction Professional, with 60 years of life experiences I bring a unique and valuable perspective to therapy. I have gained a deep understanding of the evidence-based practices that can help you address issues with substance use addiction as well as behavioral addictions including compulsive Internet use, gambling, and compulsive sexual behavior. Addressing the underlying causes of addiction is of equal importance and often involves trauma-focused therapy and Psychotherapy to manage the anxiety and depression that frequently are part of the problem. By tailoring a comprehensive approach to addiction therapy, we will address the unique needs of each individual to produce the best possible results.

I believe that you hold the solution within you and you are the expert of your own story. My style of therapy is founded on compassion and empathy and will motivate you to use your strengths to make changes that will empower you to reach your full potential. I am here to support you, without judgement in your journey to achieve a healthier, happier and more fulfilling life.

We'll start with an introductory session where you'll have the opportunity to share your story and describe what you hope to gain from therapy. Together we lay out a plan that will help you to sort out the why of the problem, while also focusing on a sustainable solution. I believe it's important to build rapport and this is able to happen when you know that you're accepted and in a safe space.
