Great to meet you!

Hi there, my name is Jose Carranza, LFMT, maneuvering through life and work with thoughtful intention and an open heart. I have approximately a decade of experience working in the mental health field and about 5 years practicing as a therapist. I'm certified in Trauma-Focused CBT and have lengthy experience working with mood, behavioral, and developmental disorders.

My approach to therapy

I typically use a person-centered approach to my practice; meaning that I meet the person I'm working with where they're at (emotionally, mentally, and spiritually) and let them dictate the pace of the sessions and what path we head down. My operating belief is that each individual has the innate capacity to solve their own problems. My job isn't to tell you what to do, it's to help you know what you're doing.

What you can expect from me

In working with me, you will first experience curiosity and warmth while building a foundation of trust and connection. If the person I'm working with wants to dive right into what's troubling them, if therapeutically safe, I will dive with them. On the other hand, if the person would like to keep content surface-level, then I'll be there with them.
