Great to meet you!

He connected people in the community with resources and advocacy within the criminal justice system. He has been a legal advocate at a domestic violence agency, assist clients of the agency with stressors and trauma stemming from toxic and abusive relationships. He has also worked at inpatient and outpatient settings of behavioral hospitals focusing, on patients struggling with trauma and substance abuse.

My approach to therapy

Jose meets with each client from a strength-based perspective, developing an understanding of how clients interact with their world. He learns about his clients’ strength as a mean to assist them in creating a change in their lives to address her struggles, and suffering from their traumatic experience. He utilities a general systems frame of mind, to understand clients holistically, and how they view their relationship with the world. He utilize dialectical behavioral therapy and acceptance and commitment therapy as the modality’s he uses when approaching therapy.

What you can expect from me

Sessions are always a partnership, where Jose is the professional and the client is the expert of their lives, working together to explore what their goals are in life, to create or recreate a life worth living. They may be challenged, encouraged to engage in topics in a comfortably uncomfortable way to help create the change the client is looking for.
