Great to meet you!

I’m Jose H. Caraballo, LCSW, a bilingual therapist providing online therapy for adults throughout Florida. I work with adults who may appear to be managing life well on the outside, but privately feel anxious, emotionally drained, overwhelmed, disconnected, or stuck in patterns they cannot seem to change.

Many of the clients I work with are dealing with stress, burnout, overthinking, family strain, relationship patterns, life transitions, or the lasting effects of childhood trauma. My approach is direct, practical, and focused on helping clients understand what is happening, where the pattern may have started, and what can change now.

I earned my Master of Social Work from Barry University and have over 11 years of clinical experience helping adults navigate stress, trauma histories, relationship concerns, family dynamics, work stress, and major life transitions.

I am also the author of Healing Childhood Trauma, and I bring that lens into my work with adults who are ready to move beyond old roles such as the overachiever, caretaker, peacekeeper, or the person who carries everyone else’s emotional weight.

My approach to therapy

My approach is direct, practical, and collaborative. I do not believe therapy should feel like talking in circles without a clear purpose. In our work together, we look at the patterns showing up in your daily life, how those patterns may have developed, and what can change now.

We may talk about past experiences when they are relevant, but the focus is not to stay stuck in the past. The goal is to understand how old patterns are affecting your current stress, relationships, boundaries, decisions, and sense of self.

Clients can expect me to be calm, engaged, and honest. I ask thoughtful questions, offer feedback, and help connect the dots in a way that feels useful and practical. Therapy with me is not about having the perfect answers. It is about building more awareness, making better choices, and learning how to respond to life differently.

What you can expect from me

In the first session, we will focus on what is bringing you to therapy now, what has been feeling most difficult, and what you would like to be different. We cover a lot of ground here but move at a pace that feels manageable for you.

I will ask questions to better understand your current stressors, important relationships, past experiences, and the patterns you are noticing in your life. We will also talk about what has helped before, what has not helped, and what kind of support you are looking for.

By the end of the first session, my goal is for you to have a better sense of how we might work together and what direction therapy could take. It is also a time for you to ask questions and decide whether my style feels like the right fit.
