Great to meet you!

Hello, my name is Jose Salcedo, PMHNP-BC, and I’m a Board-Certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner based in Victorville, California. I provide compassionate, evidence-based psychiatric care for adolescents, adults, and older adults, with a focus on helping clients achieve emotional clarity and balance in their lives.

My approach combines modern psychiatric medication management with a holistic understanding of each person’s unique experiences. I take the time to listen, educate, and collaborate with my clients to develop personalized treatment plans that align with their goals and values.

I treat a wide range of conditions, including:

  • Depression and anxiety disorders
  • Bipolar disorder
  • ADHD
  • PTSD and trauma-related concerns
  • Insomnia and stress-related issues

My goal is to create a safe, nonjudgmental environment where you can explore your mental health needs and take meaningful steps toward wellness. Whether you’re struggling with a new diagnosis, medication management, or ongoing mood challenges, I’m here to support you every step of the way.

My approach to therapy

My approach to care is centered on collaboration, compassion, and empowerment. I believe effective mental health treatment starts with truly listening to my clients and understanding their unique life experiences, values, and goals. Every person’s journey is different, and my role is to help guide you toward wellness using evidence-based strategies that fit your individual needs.

I take a holistic and patient-centered approach, blending psychiatric medication management with supportive education and lifestyle guidance. I also work closely with therapists, primary care providers, and other professionals when appropriate, to ensure that care is coordinated and comprehensive.

My style is calm, respectful, and nonjudgmental. I strive to create a space where clients feel comfortable expressing themselves and actively participating in their treatment decisions. Together, we’ll focus on achieving both symptom relief and long-term emotional resilience.

What you can expect from me

During your first session, my main goal is to get to know you — your story, your current challenges, and what you hope to achieve through treatment. We’ll take time to discuss your medical and mental health history, current symptoms, and any previous treatments or medications you’ve tried. This helps me develop a clear understanding of your needs and start building a personalized care plan.

The first session is relaxed and conversational. There’s no pressure or judgment — just an open space where you can speak freely and be heard. I want you to feel comfortable asking questions and sharing as much or as little as you’d like.

By the end of our visit, we’ll talk about potential next steps, which may include treatment goals, medication options, or referrals for therapy or support services. My aim is for you to leave the session feeling understood, supported, and hopeful about the path ahead.
