Dr. Jose Valdes

Dr. Valdes is a board certified Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner. He offers initial evaluations, medication management (for DEA controlled and non-controlled substances), and psychotherapy when appropriate. Sees all ages and specializes in ADHD, anxiety, depression, child and adolescent, LGBTQ, bipolar D/O, and sleep. As an assistant professor, Dr. Valdes shapes the next generation of providers while advancing the field and staying at the forefront of the latest treatment options.

Esteemed for his open, empathetic, and approachable demeanor, Dr. Valdes provides a personalized touch and comprehensive approach to mental health, fostering a judgment-free environment where patients feel safe, seen, heard, and supported. He integrates training from working with VA Veterans with three years of inpatient experience with high-risk children and adolescents, along with a capstone project on LGBTQ practice sensitivity, ensuring compassionate and inclusive care for all.
