Great to meet you!

You're navigating something hard right now, whether that's anxiety, depression, grief, a major life transition, or stress that just won't let up. You don't have to figure it out alone. I'm Joseph, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with more than 20 years of experience helping people move through uncertainty with confidence. My work is grounded in a simple belief: when we accept change and prepare for it thoughtfully, we transform it from a source of crisis into an opportunity for growth .

Everyone experiences seasons of uncertainty, loss, transition, or feeling stuck. Whether you're navigating anxiety, depression, grief, relationship challenges, life transitions, chronic illness, or overwhelming stress, you don't have to do it alone. My role is to provide a supportive, nonjudgmental space where you can better understand yourself, build resilience, and develop practical strategies to move forward with confidence.

In addition to providing therapy, I work as a Care Progression Social Worker in a hospital setting, where I help patients and families navigate some of life's most difficult moments. This experience has reinforced my belief that meaningful change happens when people feel heard, supported, and empowered to make thoughtful decisions. I earned my Master of Social Work and am licensed in both Missouri and Kansas. My goal is to meet you where you are and help you create lasting, meaningful change at a pace that feels right for you.

My approach to therapy

I view therapy as a collaborative partnership. While change is inevitable, how we respond to change can shape our lives in meaningful ways. My approach focuses on helping clients recognize patterns, build on their strengths, and develop practical tools that allow them to navigate life's challenges with greater confidence and resilience.

I primarily utilize Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Solution-Focused Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, and strengths-based interventions while maintaining a trauma-informed perspective. Every person brings unique experiences, values, and goals to therapy, so I tailor treatment to meet your individual needs rather than relying on a one-size-fits-all approach.

I strive to balance insight with action. Together, we'll explore what's contributing to your current struggles, identify realistic goals, and develop strategies that promote lasting growth. My hope is that therapy not only helps you feel better today but also equips you with the skills and confidence to manage future challenges long after our work together has ended.

What you can expect from me

Your first session is an opportunity for us to get to know one another and begin building a strong therapeutic relationship. We'll spend time discussing what brought you to therapy, the challenges you're currently facing, your personal history, and what you hope to accomplish. I'll ask questions to gain a better understanding of your experiences while making sure you have plenty of space to share at a pace that feels comfortable.

Together, we'll begin identifying your goals and creating a treatment plan that reflects what matters most to you. You don't need to have everything figured out before your first appointment. My job is to help you organize your thoughts, identify opportunities for growth, and begin developing a path forward.

I want you to leave our first session feeling heard, respected, and hopeful—with the reassurance that meaningful change is possible and that you don't have to navigate it alone.
