Great to meet you!

I was always interested in a profession where I can work with people and be a source of guidance, consistency and reliability. I received my education at Stony Brook University, with my Bachelor's in psychology and history and my Masters in Social Work. At StonyBrook, I played Rugby for 5 years. I worked for 2 different non-for-profits as a case manager and in-home counselor for children ages 4-21. I have been in private practice since 2021, working with people 14+. I work a lot with PTSD, ADHD, Grief, Depression and Anxiety. I also enjoy working with anxiety related to sports performance. For PTSD, I am trained in EMDR therapy that I find is highly effective in helping people reconnect with themselves and "unstick" themselves from their trauma.

My approach to therapy

My perspective of my role in therapy is not to make someone "symptom free", rather my role is to provide tools, resources and skills to assist individuals with reconnecting with themselves, realign with their core values, and work toward living a fulfilled life. I use an eclectic approach, incorporating ACT, EMDR, CBT and DBT into my sessions to ensure that a person's goals and needs are met and that they can connect with the therapeutic process.

What you can expect from me

From the first session, My focus is rapport building. I believe it is essential for a person to feel comfortable, safe and connected to their clinician and therapeutic space. A secondary focus is collaboration, that a person feels they are included and part of the therapeutic process. I am transparent in my sessions and believe in a person being educated on the tools/resources I am providing to further support the usage and connection with the tool outside of the therapy space.
