I have over 30 years’ experience working with individuals and families. I treat those whose lives are disrupted by family conflict, stress, anxiety, depression, panic and obsessive-compulsive disorder. I was an adjunct professor at Long Island University. St. John’s University and St. Paul’s School of Nursing.I am a consulting supervising psychologist for residential and day programs for persons with autism spectrum disorders and dual diagnoses.

I am a combat wounded Vietnam veteran and Purple Heart recipient and work with returning war veterans and their families. Post 9-11 attack, I was a member of the trauma team providing crisis intervention and critical incident stress debriefing for firefighters and their families.

My approach to therapy

My therapeutic approach is integrative, drawing primarily from person centered, cognitive behavioral (CBT) and rational emotive behavior therapy (REBT) principles. Treatment is individualized to each client's unique needs, strengths and goals, with an emphasis on developing practical coping skills , increasing insight and fostering lasting emotional and behavioral change.
