Great to meet you!

I bring over 14 years of professional experience in counseling and student affairs, alongside 12 years as an adjunct professor. My extensive background provides me with a deep, nuanced understanding of human development and relational dynamics, which I draw on every day in my practice with adults, young adults, and adolescents. My current work is focused on supporting clients navigating complex issues such as identity exploration, relationship challenges, stress and anxiety management, life adjustments and transitions, and personal growth and healing.

In my academic role at New York University, I teach coursework training future counselors and therapists. Additionally, I teach in their specialized certificate program in LGBTQ+ health, education, and social services. This background reinforces my commitment to providing affirming, comprehensive care for all of my clients.

I hold both a Master of Arts and an Education Specialist degree in Counseling Services. I am also a National Board Certified Counselor (NBCC) and an Approved Clinical Supervisor (ACS). I welcome the opportunity to support you in your growth, healing, and self-discovery.

My approach to therapy

My approach to therapy is collaborative, practical, and grounded in compassion. I believe that meaningful change occurs when a client feels genuinely seen, understood, and empowered within a safe therapeutic relationship.

While I draw on various clinical theories, my focus is always on tailoring our work to feel relevant and meaningful to your specific needs and goals. We work not just on insight, but on tangible, skills-based strategies to manage issues like stress, anxiety, and life transitions. I also provide deep support for adults exploring themes of identity and relationship dynamics in all their forms.

Fundamentally, I see my role as supporting you in harnessing your strengths to gain clarity, foster healing, and move toward self-discovery.

What you can expect from me

The first session is primarily about establishing a foundation and making sure you feel safe and comfortable.

You can expect me to ask questions to gain a comprehensive understanding of what brings you to therapy right now, your personal history, and your goals for our work together. This is your space to share as much or as little as you are ready to. I will also take time to explain my approach and answer any questions you have about the process.

By the end of this initial meeting, clients often take away a greater sense of clarity about their current challenges and feel hopeful and understood. We will leave the session with a preliminary, collaborative plan for what we will focus on moving forward. Booking your first appointment is a huge step—if you're ready, I'm ready to meet you there.
