Great to meet you!

Hello, I’m Dr. Joe Fineman, a clinical psychologist with over 16 years of experience in providing psychotherapy services in both hospital and private practice settings, primarily for adults. I specialize in evidence-based treatments for trauma, depression, and anxiety. Additionally, I am dedicated to offering culturally responsive care, which involves designing and implementing culturally competent programs within hospital environments. I look forward to supporting you on your journey to well-being.

My approach to therapy

My treatment approach is trauma-focused and emphasizes liberation. Liberation from thoughts, emotions or behaviors that make us stuck and unable to live our lives to their fullest potential.

What you can expect from me

At our practice, we prioritize your unique treatment needs and collaborate to identify the best approach for you. I am committed to integrating methods that align with your worldview and cultural identity.

For instance, if you find yourself re-experiencing trauma memories that make you feel unsafe—leading to avoidance or isolation—we will focus on processing these memories in our sessions, as well as engaging in structured activities outside of our time together to enhance your life satisfaction.

If you are dealing with recurring feelings of depression, low energy, or significant anxiety, we will emphasize strategies that promote mindfulness, emotional acceptance, and breaking free from negative thought patterns.

Together, we will work to find the treatment approach that resonates with you and supports your journey toward a more fulfilling and satisfying life.
