Great to meet you!

My mother taught me and my brothers from a very young age not to ever hate anyone. Her words have been invaluable to me. My father instilled in us boys a mantra that too has served me well. He said to us innumerable times "Listen." Neither of my parents were strict disciplinarians, and they never used corporal punishment. But, from boyhood, through adolescence and into young adulthood, my brothers and I could count on a well-deserved lecture and extra chores if either of my parents ever caught us breaking one of these rules. My parents' philosophy helped steer me into my life's work, and I employ their beliefs daily in my career as a therapist. I believe people seek counseling so they can be accepted, validated and heard. I committed to myself long ago to never hate and to always listen to my patients/clients/consumers, regardless of their behaviors.Validation, empowerment and dignity are what I strive to create, cultivate and reap in every therapeutic alliance into which I enter.

My approach to therapy

I value the therapeutic alliance above everything else that efffects positive, lasting and transformational success for both client and therapist. I believe that therapist and client/families must be aawa during every counselilng/therapy seeing being necessary for best practices and ----professionally , with patients/consumers/clients and also colleagues/supervisees/supervisors. For me, creating, building, cultivating, nurturing and when appropriate terminating relationships is the key to successful transitional experiences that leave all parties mutually grown emotionally, cognitively, spiritually, psychologically and interpersonally.
