Great to meet you!

Practice Philosophy

As a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with a Doctorate in Psychology (PsyD), I operate from a Christian worldview, grounded in the conviction that faith and science are complementary sources of truth. Rather than imposing a standard secular therapeutic template (outside-in), my practice utilizes an inside-out approach tailored specifically to theistic cultures.

Simply put, an outside-in approach applies a predetermined secular framework to your experiences, while an inside-out approach builds your therapy directly around your existing faith foundation.

In my practice, we focus deeply on the theistic dimension of your life:

  • Your Spiritual Baseline: Your belief in God or a Higher Power is treated as the foundational framework through which we understand your life and experiences.
  • Evidence-Based Integration: We begin with this spiritual foundation, harmonizing clinical psychological science with your faith to support your healing and growth.

My approach to therapy

Specialized Care Tracks

  • Track 1: Christian Integrationist Model (Catholic, Protestant, & Orthodox)
    • The Lens: Uses a Christian framework for truth, identity, values, and meaning.
    • The Approach: Blends clinical science with spiritual disciplines (e.g., prayer, scripture, sacraments) and the framework of redemptive suffering to support deep restoration and your walk of faith.
  • Track 2: General Psycho-Spiritual Model (Theistic / Higher Power)
    • The Lens: Designed for clients outside the Christian tradition who believe in God or a Higher Power.
    • The Approach: Builds therapy directly upon your specific faith tradition to explore divine meaning and holistic flourishing without imposing external religious doctrines.

Clinical Approach

In both tracks, I weave your faith foundation with four primary evidence-based clinical modalities, tailored to your unique goals:

  • Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT): To cultivate psychological flexibility and pivot toward virtue and value-driven action.
  • Narrative Therapy: To safely explore your personal history and locate your story within the authorship of a supportive Higher Power.
  • Attachment Theory: To heal historical relational wounds and foster secure, trusting connections with God, others, and yourself.
  • Positive Psychology: To move beyond symptom management and actively build upon your core, God-given character strengths.

What you can expect from me

In our first session, we collaboratively map your challenges by integrating four core evidence-based lenses. Together, we will unpack your unique story (Narrative), learn to unhook from painful emotions and outdated coping styles (ACT), examine your relational templates with God and others (Attachment), and activate your innate strengths and virtues (Positive Psychology). Our goal is to leave this session with a clear roadmap that reframes your current struggles not as the final word on your identity, but as a chapter being actively co-authored with God toward holistic flourishing.
