Great to meet you!

Hi, I’m Dr. Josephine Hamenu, a Family Nurse Practitioner with a strong clinical background in mental health, dedicated to helping you feel like yourself again. I earned my Doctor of Nursing Practice and my Master’s degree from Virginia Commonwealth University, and my Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Liberty University School of Nursing—bringing a strong clinical foundation and a compassionate, patient-centered approach to every encounter.

I provide focused, evidence-based, and holistic care for individuals experiencing anxiety, depression, bipolar disorder, and schizophrenia, with personalized treatment plans tailored to your unique needs, goals, and life circumstances—addressing not just symptoms, but your overall well-being.

My approach to therapy

When we meet, my goal is for you to feel at ease—free to speak openly without filtering or pretending. I have supported individuals facing anxiety, depression, bipolar disorder, schizophrenia, and other conditions, including during some of their most challenging moments. I understand how heavy life can feel. With a calm presence, attentive listening, a collaborative approach, holistic care, and thoughtful medication management, I will meet you exactly where you are.

What you can expect from me

Together, we’ll build a path toward greater stability, renewed hope, and a sense of peace that feels true to who you are. When you’re ready to move toward relief, clarity, and emotional balance, I’ll be here to support and partner with you every step of the way.
