Hey there, seeker of balance and growth—I see you. My work has woven through community mental health and integrated primary care over the past 20 years, deepening my belief that healing isn’t just about talking—it’s about reconnecting with your whole self. I take a holistic, intuitive approach that blends cognitive strategies, mindfulness, and body-based practices like EFT to support real, sustainable change.
I’m warm, collaborative, and yes—I sometimes curse, because therapy with me is about being real, not polished. I also believe in giving you tools you can take with you, not just insights in the moment. Whether we’re exploring your beliefs through REBT or practicing nervous system regulation, our work is active, grounded, and tailored to you.
Therapy with me is a space where you’re not just heard—you’re deeply seen, supported, and encouraged to reconnect with your own strength and clarity.
I see therapy as a collaborative, down-to-earth process that meets you where you are—no masks, no pretending, just space to show up as your full self. My approach is holistic and integrative, blending evidence-based cognitive work with intuitive, body-based practices. I often draw from REBT and ACT to help you notice and shift the unhelpful thoughts and beliefs that keep you stuck, while also reconnecting with your values and inner sense of direction.
But we don’t live in our heads alone—so I also bring in mindfulness, somatic tools like EFT, and nervous system work to help you feel more grounded and at home in your body. We might explore emotions through breath, movement, or stillness. It’s not one-size-fits-all—it’s about what resonates with you.
Between sessions, I offer homework—small, intentional practices to help reinforce what we’re working on. One of the core tools I often introduce early on is the ABCDE journaling method. It’s a simple but powerful way to untangle the thoughts, emotions, and beliefs driving your day-to-day experience. Homework isn’t about checking a box—it’s about creating meaningful shifts that stick beyond the therapy room.
I’m not the type of therapist who just nods and takes notes. I show up fully—sometimes with a metaphor, sometimes with a well-placed curse, and always with deep respect for your process. My role is to walk alongside you as you reconnect with your inner clarity, courage, and capacity for change.
In our first session, my focus is on getting to know you—not just your struggles, but also your strengths, your story, and what you're hoping to get out of therapy. There’s no pressure to have the “right” words or to dive deep before you’re ready. We go at your pace. I’ll ask some questions to better understand what’s been going on, but it’s more of a conversation than an interview.
You can expect a space that’s grounded, calm, and real. I may offer a few reflections, invite you to check in with your body, or explore how your thoughts are showing up. But mostly, I’m there to listen with curiosity and without judgment.
You don’t have to perform or have it all figured out. This is just the beginning of building a therapeutic relationship—one where you can feel supported and seen. Sometimes there’s laughter, sometimes there are tears, and both are welcome.
Just a quick note: To begin therapy with me, you do need to be physically located in Virginia at the time of our sessions—that’s part of my licensure requirement. If you’re in Virginia and ready to start, I’d be honored to walk alongside you.
