Great to meet you!

Great to meet you! I’m a licensed professional clinical counselor with more than 15 years of experience in counseling, clinical supervision, and counselor education, and I hold a doctorate in Educational Leadership and Policy Studies with a concentration in Counselor Education and Supervision. I work with adults navigating grief, stress, life transitions, identity, relationships, and the effects of difficult or traumatic experiences, with particular experience supporting LGBTQ+ and gender and sexual minority clients. My approach is collaborative, affirming, and grounded in understanding both you and the broader experiences and contexts that shape your life. My goal is to help you better understand what you’re experiencing and work toward changes that feel meaningful and realistic.

My approach to therapy

My approach to therapy is collaborative, relational, and tailored to the person in front of me. I’ll help you explore patterns, relationships, past experiences, and the broader contexts that may be shaping what you’re experiencing now, while also focusing on what can be useful in your day-to-day life. I bring a trauma-informed and affirming perspective to my work and pay attention to how identity, culture, family, and other life experiences influence well-being. Rather than relying on a one-size-fits-all approach, we’ll work together to identify what feels most useful and meaningful for you.

What you can expect from me

In our first session, we’ll spend time getting to know what brings you to counseling, what has been happening in your life, and what you hope might be different. I’ll ask questions to better understand your experiences, relationships, strengths, and the context surrounding your concerns, while leaving room for you to share at a pace that feels comfortable. We’ll begin identifying areas you’d like to focus on and talk about what working together might look like. My goal is for you to leave the first session with a clearer sense of the process and whether our work together feels like a good fit.
