Great to meet you!

Hello and welcome! I specialize in social anxiety disorder and poor self-confidence, grief and loss, and many issues affecting the LGBTQ+ community. I have been a licensed social worker since 2017 attending graduate school at Edinboro University in Pennsylvania. Since my initial licensure, I have worked in a county mental health clinic as a therapist. in-home therapist for a local non profit, as a hospice social worker, as a clinical supervisor and as a therapist in private practice.

My approach to therapy

My approach to therapy is akin to humanistic therapy likened to the work of psychologist, Carl Rogers. Rogers said, “We cannot change, we cannot move away from what we are, until we thoroughly accept what we are. Then change seems to come about almost unnoticed.” Sessions are loosely structured but I believe the client takes the lead and through speaking and gaining insight identifies their own solutions. For clients struggling with social anxiety disorder, CBT is utilized.

What you can expect from me

Client can expect to feel respected, heard, validated during their sessions. Empathy is everything in the work that I do. Client should also expect an "it works if you work it" approach indicating client will need to engage actively in treatment including any homework assigned if they hope to grow and make the changes they wish.
