My name is Joshua Murdock. I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker. I have been working in the mental health field for nearly 15 years. I have worked with many different populations including children, teens, young adults and elderly adults.
I have an eclectic approach to therapy as I believe that each client is different and requires different forms of treatment. I think that every client should have their treatment tailored to their specific issues. I believe in taking care of ourselves both mentally and physically in order to be the best that we can be for ourselves, our family and our communities. I also believe in creating a therapeutic relationship with clients in order to increase coping skills and to decrease symptoms.
Clients frequently tell me how much they have grown mentally and how they are able to manage their symptoms better. I believe it is important to build a therapeutic relationship as it helps clients to feel comfortable with telling their story. I feel that I am an active listener and I try to understand what my clients are trying to resolve. I try to let others feel how I like to feel whenever I seek professional help.
