Great to meet you!

Hello, and welcome. My name is Joshua Pleasant Vance, LPCC, and I am the owner and clinical therapist at Live 4 You Counseling LLC. I am a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor and Certified Life Coach with experience working with adolescents, adults, and families facing a variety of emotional, behavioral, and life challenges.

I specialize in helping individuals navigate anxiety, depression, OCD, ADHD, autism spectrum disorders, relationship concerns, self-esteem issues, life transitions, trauma-related concerns, and challenges related to identity and personal growth. I also have extensive experience supporting neurodivergent individuals and helping clients build practical skills for emotional regulation, communication, executive functioning, and healthy relationships.

My counseling approach integrates evidence-based therapeutic techniques with compassion, authenticity, and respect for each client’s unique story. For clients who desire it, I also offer faith-integrated counseling that incorporates Christian principles into the therapeutic process.

My goal is to create a safe, supportive space where clients feel heard, valued, and empowered to move toward meaningful change and lasting growth.

My approach to therapy

I believe therapy should be both compassionate and practical. My approach is collaborative, meaning we work together to identify challenges, set goals, and develop strategies that fit your life and values.

I draw from several evidence-based approaches, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Solution-Focused Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Motivational Interviewing, and family systems approaches. I tailor treatment to each client’s individual needs rather than using a one-size-fits-all model.

I often help clients understand how their thoughts, emotions, behaviors, relationships, and life experiences interact with one another. Together, we work to identify patterns that may be keeping them stuck while building healthier coping skills, stronger self-awareness, and greater emotional flexibility.

My style is warm, direct, encouraging, and nonjudgmental. I strive to create an environment where clients feel comfortable discussing difficult topics while also being challenged to grow and move toward their goals.

What you can expect from me

The first session is an opportunity for us to get to know one another and begin building a strong therapeutic relationship. My goal is to create an environment where you feel comfortable, respected, and free to share your experiences without fear of judgment.

During our initial meeting, we’ll discuss what brings you to therapy, explore your current concerns, review relevant personal and mental health history, and identify the goals you would like to accomplish through counseling. I will also answer any questions you have about the therapy process.

By the end of the first session, clients typically leave with a clearer understanding of their challenges, an initial treatment plan, and a sense of direction for future sessions. Most importantly, I want clients to feel heard, understood, and hopeful that meaningful change is possible.

Therapy is not about being perfect—it’s about making progress, developing effective tools, and creating a life that aligns with your values and goals. My role is to walk alongside you in that process and help you build the skills and confidence needed to thrive.
