Great to meet you!

Being a therapist has been a lifelong goal of mine. I have enjoyed working with people in a variety of settings for over 22 years. I believe that with the correct support support and the development of insight, people can overcome difficulties and reach their goals. The best outcomes are when my clients develop skills to change the ways they relate to themselves and others.

My approach to therapy

The best support in therapy begins with relationship and the development of rapport. It is primary that clients can trust me to be knowledgeable, empowering and nonjudgmental. I believe that linking behaviors, emotions and thoughts are the best way to relearn more adaptive patterns in living and can transform old habits into new ways of living. Primarily, I use a Cognitive Behavioral focus, but it is very important that clients learns ways to feel at home in their bodies.

What you can expect from me

The day to day world is field work and what we do during our session is work and revise new strategies to use during field work. This may be as simple as reflection and examining to gain new insight into what is working or not. It could involve more directive "homework" to practice new skills in a variety of situations. Clients should feel energized and hopeful after sessions with some concrete steps to try towards therapeutic goals.
