Great to meet you!

My name is Jovanna Villaman, and I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) in Rhode Island. I am dedicated to helping individuals, couples, and families navigate life's challenges, improve emotional well-being, and build healthier, more fulfilling lives. I support clients experiencing anxiety, depression, emotional distress, relationship challenges, low self-esteem, and difficult life transitions. My approach incorporates cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) strategies and trauma-informed principles to help clients develop practical coping skills, improve emotional regulation, strengthen communication, and build self-awareness and confidence.

My approach to therapy

My therapeutic approach is warm, collaborative, and culturally sensitive. I strive to create a safe, welcoming, and judgment-free environment where clients feel heard, understood, and empowered to explore their experiences, recognize their strengths, and work toward meaningful change. I believe therapy is a collaborative journey that encourages personal growth, resilience, and healthier patterns of thinking and relating. Every client has a unique story, and I tailor my approach to their individual needs, experiences, and goals.

What you can expect from me

As a bilingual English- and Spanish-speaking therapist, I value culturally responsive care that respects each client's language, culture, family values, and personal experiences. My goal is to provide compassionate, individualized support that helps clients feel comfortable expressing themselves and working toward positive change. At JV Professional Counseling, your well-being matters. You deserve to feel heard, supported, and empowered to create healthier relationships and a more balanced life. You do not have to navigate life's challenges alone. I invite you to take the first step toward healing, growth, and emotional well-being.
