Great to meet you!

Hi, I’m Jovonna. I’m a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker with more than ten years of experience supporting youth, adolescents, and young adults as they navigate trauma, emotional overwhelm, identity exploration, and major life transitions.

I specialize in working with clients who have complex or co-occurring mental health needs, including anxiety, depression, suicidality, self-harm, neurodivergence, and trauma-related concerns. Much of my career has been spent in hospital and post-crisis settings, which has shaped my belief that therapy should feel safe, steady, and deeply human, especially during life’s most overwhelming moments.

My approach to therapy

My approach is holistic, collaborative, and individualized. I draw from evidence-based practices such as DBT, CBT, TF-CBT, EMDR, ACT, CAMS, and Positive Behavioral Support, while also valuing authentic connection and real conversation. Together, we focus on understanding what’s happening emotionally, behaviorally, and systemically, so change feels possible and sustainable.

I have a strong background supporting families and caregivers, helping them better understand behavior without blame or shame, and building tools that actually work in real life. I also bring a neurodiversity-affirming and culturally responsive lens to my work, honoring each client’s identity, values, and lived experience.

What you can expect from me

At the core of my practice is a commitment to equity, inclusion, and respect. I strive to create a space where clients of all identities feel welcomed, validated, and supported.

Clients often share, that I feel calm, grounded, and genuine, and that therapy with me feels both supportive and practical. My hope is that our work together helps you feel more connected to yourself, more confident in your choices, and better equipped to navigate life with clarity and compassion.
