Great to meet you!

I believe counseling should be a place where you feel seen, heard, and supported. Many of the clients I work with are navigating important life transitions—work, school, marriage, family relationships, cultural identity, leadership stress, faith questions, or the pressures of professional life. I especially enjoy working with individuals, couples, and families from diverse backgrounds, including professional women, TCK, MKs, PKs, Ministry families, African and Black and brown families, diaspora families, international professionals, and people who desire to integrate their faith into the counseling process.

My goal is to create a space that is both compassionate and practical. I want clients to feel safe bringing their whole story into the room—faith, culture, family dynamics, and personal struggles—while also leaving sessions with tools that help them grow and move forward. Whether we are working through relationship challenges, stress, anxiety, or life direction, I approach therapy as a partnership where we work together toward healing and clarity.

My approach to therapy

My approach to therapy is relational, strengths-based, and practical. I draw from evidence-based counseling approaches while also honoring the values and beliefs that are important to each client. For clients who desire it, I integrate Christian faith and spiritual reflection into the counseling process.

I often incorporate elements of cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), narrative therapy, and solution-focused strategies. This allows us to look at patterns in thoughts, relationships, and behaviors while also building new tools for communication, emotional regulation, and decision-making.

With couples, I focus on strengthening communication, rebuilding trust, and helping partners understand one another more deeply. With individuals, we often explore identity, purpose, boundaries, and personal growth.

Above all, my approach is collaborative—I believe meaningful change happens when clients feel empowered and supported in their own journey.

I am a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), and I have spent many years working in counseling, teaching, and mentoring in both clinical and academic settings. My background includes counseling individuals, couples, ministry leaders, professionals, and families from diverse cultural backgrounds.

Having lived and worked in East Africa earlier in my life and now serving communities in the United States, I deeply value cultural awareness and the importance of understanding how culture, faith, and family shape our experiences. Many of my clients are navigating cross-cultural identities, leadership pressures, or relationship challenges within strong family and faith traditions.

My areas of focus include marriage and relationship counseling, premarital counseling, stress and life transitions, cultural and identity concerns, leadership and professional burnout, and supporting individuals seeking faith-integrated counseling.

What you can expect from me

The first session is a time for us to get to know one another and begin understanding what brings you to counseling. I will ask questions about your current concerns, your background, and what you hope to gain from therapy. There is no pressure to share everything at once—this is simply the beginning of our work together.

Together we will identify some initial goals and discuss how counseling can best support you. Many clients leave the first session feeling relieved to finally talk through what they have been carrying.

My hope is that you will feel welcomed, respected, and encouraged as we begin the process of growth and healing together.
