Great to meet you!

Hello! My name is Joy! I am currently a board-certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP), and for 26 years had an active license as a Certified Nurse Midwife. My past experience includes providing women’s health care as a midwife and behavioral health care for individuals across the lifespan, treating a wide range of psychiatric conditions including depression, anxiety, ADHD, adjustment disorder and PTSD. I am dedicated to providing compassionate, evidence-based care that is tailored to each patient’s unique needs. My practice is grounded in a holistic model of integrated psychiatric care. This approach not only focuses on treating symptoms with medication management, but includes overall mind/body wellness (nutrition, sleep, exercise, genetics, hormonal factors, supplements, etc).

My approach to therapy

I believe in a holistic, integrated approach to psychiatric care. This means I consider not only symptoms but also personal history, lifestyle, and goals when creating a treatment plan. I prioritize open communication, shared decision-making, and cultural sensitivity. Whether it's through medication management, brief psychotherapy, or coordination with other providers, my goal is to support patients in achieving optimal mind/body/spiritual wellness and finding joy and purpose in life. I also take a trauma-informed and nonjudgmental stance to create a safe and supportive space.

What you can expect from me

Patients can expect to feel heard, respected, and actively involved in their care. Each session is an opportunity to gain insight, receive support, and make progress toward individual goals. Whether it’s symptom relief, improved daily functioning, or learning new coping strategies, I aim to empower each person with knowledge and resources on their mental health journey. I strive to provide a calm, warm, uplifting and collaborative environment where patients can talk openly and feel comfortable being themselves.
