Great to meet you!

Hello, I am Joycelyn Smith. Please call me Joy. I am an alumna of Georgia State University and have been a Licensed Professional Counselor in Georgia for over 10 years. I have a diverse professional counseling experience working with various populations in different settings and it has shown me the power and effectiveness of counseling.

If you’re looking for a therapist that is optimistic, relatable, and meets you where you are, you’ve found your match!

My approach to therapy

Therapy provides a safe environment for you to explore your strengths and weakness(es) as well as develop a new perspective to facilitate wellness in your life. My role involves supporting you and facilitating mental and emotional wellness, through talk therapy; using CBT, DBT, and Solution focused therapy models.

What you can expect from me

You will end sessions feeling validated, challenged and empowered. As a result, you will began to see a difference in how you manage yourself (i.e improved self-awareness, increased emotional regulation) and approach different situations. (i.e operate with new perspective and enhanced problem solving skills.)
