Great to meet you!

Dr. Juan Francisco Puente Jr. is a Licensed Professional Counselor with experience working with children, adolescents, adults, and families across community-based, school-based, private practice, and telehealth settings. His clinical experience includes working with clients experiencing anxiety, depression, adjustment difficulties, behavioral concerns, family conflict, grief, trauma-related stressors, and identity-related concerns.

He has experience working with diverse and underserved populations and provides counseling services in both English and Spanish. His areas of focus include culturally responsive counseling, bilingual counseling, and supporting clients within the context of their language, culture, and lived experiences. He also has a strong professional interest in the connection between sports, mental health, performance, identity, and personal development, particularly in supporting athletes as they navigate stress, confidence, transitions, and overall well-being.

My approach to therapy

My approach to counseling is holistic and client-centered. Together, we explore the various aspects of your life that may be influencing your mental and emotional well-being, creating a comprehensive plan that supports your overall health and growth. Through a collaborative process, we identify your strengths, values, and existing resources to develop meaningful and achievable goals. My aim is to empower you to build on your strengths, overcome challenges, and create lasting positive change in your life.

What you can expect from me

In our first session, you can expect a warm, nonjudgmental space where we will begin looking at your life as a whole. Rather than just focusing on a single symptom, we will explore your current challenges alongside your physical well-being, lifestyle, and history. Our primary goal is to establish safety, understand what brings you to therapy right now.
