I am the mother of a murdered child so I understand grief. I have over 30 years of experience and trained extensively with victims of trauma. I no longer see patients under the age of 16. My office hours are 12 noon to 5 pm unless I agree to a special request Monday thru Thursday.
I let the client lead in the beginning until I see how they process information. I suggest books when needed, support groups for additional support, etc. I am very client-centered but not afraid to dig into your life to find out what is holding you back.
Most of my clients leave feeling heard, understood, and with some sense of direction in their life. I will give homework when appropriate and allow the client to self-direct in where they want the treatment to go. I can do short-term or long-term depending on the client's needs.
