Great to meet you!

I have a Master's Degree in Social Work and over 30 years of experience in Mental Health Treatment. I work with adults who are struggling with a variety of issues including stress, self esteem, family conflicts and life changes such as divorce or loss or change in jobs. I specialize in working with elderly around issues of health, retirement and loss.

My approach to therapy

I use a client center and trauma approach to therapy. You are in control of how much, when and what you share. We move at your pace as trust is built. I understand that sharing your internal thoughts and feelings is hard and will respect the boundaries you set.

What you can expect from me

Our first session will be focused on getting to know each other and setting the tone for future sessions. I will be asking information about the problem bringing you to therapy including symptoms, how the "problem" is impacting your life and how long has it been a problem for you. I will also ask about the parts of your life that are going well. And finally I will ask for some information about your life including marriage, children, job, friends, etc. There will be time for you to ask questions about me and the therapy process.
