Great to meet you!

I'm skilled in numerous modalities, including both EMDR and sensorimotor therapies. My specialties go to the root of the problem and help you find the "silver thread" that will enable you to move through life with more ease and control. In addition to my trauma training, I'm also an RPT (registered play therapist), and I have extensive knowledge of child development. I am willing to counsel adolescents online but children younger than 12 must be seen in person.

My approach to therapy

I listen to the client and use a collaborative approach to therapy that respects the client's feelings and perspective. My modalities allow the client to gain the necessary insight to make informed decisions without being instructed on how to act. Furthermore, as a trauma specialist I am cognizant when a client is traumatized and needs to expand his/her window of tolerance. I am skilled in both expelling the physical sensations of trauma from the client's body and regulating a client using grounding and relaxation exercises.

What you can expect from me

My first session with each client involves exploring their primary issue and establishing goals and objectives for therapy. I focus more on gathering the necessary information needed to complete a biopsychosocial assessment, which focuses on the client's past and present physical and emotional concerns. I also look for an early negative belief that created a neuro network in the client, which likely serves as the root of the obstacles he/she faces in his/her life.
