Great to meet you!

Hi, I’m Judy. I earned my Master of Education from Youngstown State University in 2000 and became independently licensed as a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC) in 2002. In 2025, I earned my supervisory designation, allowing me to provide clinical supervision to other counselors.

My professional experience has included community mental health, private practice, and school-based counseling. I spent six years working in community mental health, including four years as a case manager, and I have been in private practice since 2002. Since 2024, I have also provided school-based counseling services to adolescents.

Over the years, I have worked with clients experiencing a wide range of concerns and life circumstances. I am trained in EMDR and incorporate trauma-informed approaches into my work when appropriate. My experience has taught me that therapy is not one-size-fits-all, and I strive to meet each client where they are while helping them move toward where they want to be.

My approach to therapy

I believe therapy works best when you feel comfortable being yourself. My style is warm, conversational, and

straightforward, with room for humor when it fits. I’m an active counselor. I’ll listen carefully, ask questions, help you recognize patterns, and work with you to understand not only what you’re experiencing, but why.

I have extensive experience helping people navigate anxiety, stress, trauma, relationship difficulties, life transitions, and feeling overwhelmed or stuck. I am also trained in EMDR and incorporate trauma-informed approaches when appropriate. My goal is to create a space where you feel genuinely heard and understood while also gaining practical tools, new perspectives, and greater confidence in handling the challenges in your life.

What you can expect from me

During our first session, I’ll spend time getting to know you and learning more about what brings you to counseling. We’ll complete an initial assessment that includes your current concerns, relevant history, strengths, and the areas of your life you would like to improve. Together, we’ll begin identifying goals for therapy and what you hope to gain from our work together.

Sharing personal information can feel uncomfortable, so I make it a priority to create a warm, welcoming, and nonjudgmental environment. You don’t have to know exactly what to say or where to begin. We’ll take it at a pace that feels comfortable

My goal is for you to leave feeling heard, understood, and clear about what our work together might look like.
