Great to meet you!

I previously practiced law for 17 years prior to going back to school to become a therapist after witnessing the 9/11 attacks from my office window. Most recently, I worked in a group psychotherapy practice prior to starting my own private practice where I provided therapy to adolescents (and their families) and adults who struggled with, among other things, depression and anxiety, using a variety of therapeutic techniques and approaches in order to tailor treatment to fit each client’s needs.

My approach to therapy

I believe that clients are the consumers and need to feel comfortable with whom they share their stories. I strive to provide a comfortable, nonjudgmental environment and I let the client set the pace. I utilize a variety of therapeutic techniques and approaches, although I believe we are all products of our family of origin and can learn a lot about how we relate to other people and situations based on that.

What you can expect from me

I can be task-oriented if the client is amenable, because I believe that this facilitates the change people are looking for when they seek therapy. I measure progress in small victories and believe in feedback, not failure.
