Great to meet you!

I'm Judy Carino, a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner based in Joliet, Illinois. I earned my BSN and MSN with honors from Loyola University of Chicago, and have been practicing since obtaining my Adult Nurse Practitioner certification in 2003, followed by my Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner certification in 2016. Over the years, I've had the privilege of working with adults, older adults, individuals with intellectual disabilities, and those navigating chronic mental health conditions. I have a holistic approach in treating patients, and it's important to take time to discuss and hear your concerns.

My approach to therapy

I believe there is no one-size-fits-all formula when it comes to mental health care — everything I recommend is tailored specifically to you. My approach is collaborative, holistic, and multidisciplinary, always keeping your personal goals at the center of our work together. I offer medication management alongside short-term psychotherapy, and I see patients ages 14 and older. Drawing on my background as a former Associate Professor, I also make it a point to educate you along the way, because understanding your own care matters.

What you can expect from me

Your first appointment is an intake session that typically runs about 90 minutes, though we can streamline that by gathering some information from you ahead of time. I'll take the time to really listen to your story, ask thorough questions, and explore everything relevant to a complete assessment, including your history, current concerns, and any medication considerations. I won't rush you. My goal is for you to leave that first session feeling heard, informed, and confident that we're building a care plan that truly fits your life.

Ready to take the first step? I'd love to support you on your journey — reach out today to schedule your appointment.
