Great to meet you!

Hi! I'm Jules. I am a trauma-informed, sex-positive, Queer allied therapist. I work with adults of all genders who struggle with stress and trauma; or have a desire to understand themselves and emotions on a deeper level. In our work together I strive for you to rediscover yourself in a healthier way and feeling empowered. This means actually feeling your feelings, understanding why you do what you do, learning self-compassion, find joy, reduce fear and shift accountability where it belongs. Putting our work into practice will enrich your relationship to self, others, and invigorate your life.

My approach to therapy

My style of therapy starts with safety and building trust first, while also learning which therapeutic approach works more effectively for you. In session you can expect to be focusing on a topic related to one of your therapeutic goals and verbally processing. When appropriate I will provide education, exercises in session, practical coping tools, and weekly suggestions. Some sessions may be tearful, other sessions we might be coloring and laughing! Not every session needs to be heavy. There is no one size fits all and I will cater our sessions to your strengths and comfort. I am further trained in EMDR for those seeking alternatives to talk therapy or wish to incorporate it with verbal processing.

What you can expect from me

This is tough work which involves consistency, practice and dedication on your part, as I cannot do this for you; but I will be by your side every step of the way.
