Great to meet you!

Hi there, I’m glad you’re here. My name is Julia and I’m a Licensed Mental Health Counselor and proud double USF alumnus (Go Bulls!). I have a passion for assisting clients in their improvement journey and providing information on how the brain and body work together to influence your mental health landscape. I have the most experience working with teen and adult clients who live with anxiety, OCD, life challenges, and self-esteem concerns. In the first session, space is made so that you can speak on your story and describe how your vision for the next chapter.

My approach to therapy

In each session, we will review what we worked on last, discuss recent symptoms, and then focus on specific mental wellness skills for you to work on in the upcoming week, all based on your long-term goals. I often provide visual aids and homework for you to review and complete in-between sessions so that you can implement changes wherever it’s most needed. I utilize interventions from Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Mindfulness Based Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy, and Compassion-Focused therapy. I love fostering creativity in my sessions, whether it be through art projects, expanding perspective or helping you find your creative spin on an existing technique.

What you can expect from me

First meetings can be nerve-wracking, and it's understandable. I strive to create a warm, relaxed space from the very first 'Hello'. In our first meeting, we will review your expectations for therapy and desired changes. A game plan will be devised based on your comfort level and prior life experience. I'll also share client guidelines to ensure that the process runs as smoothly as possible.
