Great to meet you!

I've been working with adults and couples for 13 years, and the thread running through most of that work is this: the things that feel most stuck — the anxiety that won't quit, the same relationship fights on repeat, the sense that you should be "over it" by now — usually have roots that talk therapy alone doesn't reach. That's why I trained extensively in EMDR, Internal Family Systems, and Emotionally Focused Therapy. These approaches work differently from traditional weekly check-ins, and for many of my clients, they've created change that years of other therapy didn't.

I work with both civilians and military-connected clients — veterans, active duty service members, first responders, and their partners and families. This population has been central to my practice for over a decade, and I understand both the culture and the clinical picture that comes with it.

All of my work is telehealth, and I'm licensed to see clients anywhere in California. If you're in San Diego, LA, the Bay Area, or anywhere in between — I can work with you.

My approach to therapy

I'm open-minded and collaborative. I won't just nod and reflect your words back at you — I'll work with you actively, and I'll push gently when I think you're ready to go deeper. My goal is always for you to leave sessions with something: a new insight, a skill that works, a different way of understanding an old pattern.

For trauma work, I primarily use EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) and Cognitive Processing Therapy — evidence-based approaches with strong research behind them for PTSD and complex trauma. For couples, I use Emotionally Focused Therapy, which gets to the attachment patterns underneath the surface-level arguments most couples come in fighting about.

I also bring Internal Family Systems into a lot of my individual work — it's a powerful way of making sense of why a part of you knows something is harmful but does it anyway, or why you freeze when you want to speak up. It's especially useful for clients with trauma histories who feel like their own inner life is working against them.

What you can expect from me

The first session is primarily about me getting to know you — what's brought you here, what's felt hard, and what you're hoping changes. I'll ask questions, and I genuinely want honest answers over polished ones. You don't need to come in knowing what's "wrong" or having a therapy goal figured out.

I'll also share what I'm noticing and how I think about what you're describing. You won't leave the first session with just a list of things to work on — I want you to leave with a sense that someone actually heard what you said, and a preliminary picture of how I think therapy might help.

For couples: both partners will have equal space to speak. My job in the first session is to understand both of your experiences, not to take sides or form early opinions. Most couples leave the first session feeling heard for the first time in a long time — that's often enough to know whether this is the right fit.
