As a child therapist, I work with families to develop effective parenting strategies based on their unique values and needs. I utilize various parenting techniques including Reflecting Parenting and the RIE method. I support my clients and their caregivers in strengthening their ability to communicate and connect during periods of developmental transition. I incorporate process-oriented art and music into my work with children to aid their nonverbal expression and innate creativity.
I also work with individual adults to realize their full potential and to gain insight into life’s difficulties. Depression, anxiety, grief and loss, life transitions and general stagnation often lead individuals to seek therapy. I collaboratively make meaning of challenging life events with clients while finding new ways to cope.
My therapeutic approach provides empathic understanding and a safe space in which clients can explore and strengthen past and present relationships. I also think that it's helpful to incorporate humor into sessions when appropriate! I specialize in play therapy, work with adolescents, and focus on helping adults to make sense of their creative lives.
I support families in trying new, connective strategies at home. Additionally, I encourage adult and adolescent clients to become aware of patterns of thinking and to incorporate self-compassion into their daily lives.
