Great to meet you!

I strive to provide a safe and collaborative atmosphere to help you accomplish your goals for therapy. My style is laidback and warm while being motivational and direct.

I have spent the last 5 years working as a co-occurring counselor for addictions and mental health disorders which has given me a broad framework to support a variety of clients and experiences. I am an LPC in South Carolina specializing in grief, depression, anxiety, life transitions and stress. I work with adolescents, young adults and the adult population. My passion is helping people recognize their strengths and find peace with their past.

My approach to therapy

I believe in the importance of looking back on past experiences and beliefs in order to make changes in the present and future. I approach therapy using a combination of skills focused interventions from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy to help shift attitudes, beliefs and behaviors in addition to existential and processing-focused interventions from Internal Family Systems and CPT. By using these approaches we don't just talk about change, we explore the "why" and the "what's next" of your challenges.

What you can expect from me

In our first session together we'll be both getting to know each other to develop a therapeutic relationship as well as learning about what brings you in to therapy, your background, your current challenges as well as your current strengths. From there we will collaborate on a set of goals and ideas to help move you from where you were to where you're going in the therapeutic space. I welcome questions about the process of therapy so you can know what to expect as we move forward.
