Great to meet you!

I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist with over 10 years of experience working with clients in community mental health and private practice. In both, I have provided my client's with tools to overcome life challenges such as trauma, anxiety, depression, substance abuse, co-occurring disorders, along with self-esteem and relationship struggles. I have a passion for both education and counseling for purposeful healing. Together, my passions help my clients overcome past and present experiences and assist with their transformation into successful, empowered, and healthy individuals.

Our therapeutic relationship is built on trust and safety. My approach is client-centered and strength-based with a focus on the therapeutic alliance as the basis of change. I utilize an eclectic array of techniques, such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Solution Focused Therapy, and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR).

Therapy enables a person to achieve their greatest potential while identifying their strengths and areas of growth. Allow me to be a part of your journey as you push through discomfort and emotional pain while recognizing negative, self-defeating patterns to build self-awareness and a healthier relationship with yourself and others.

My approach to therapy

As a therapist, I believe healing happens through a balance of warmth, honesty, and practical support. My priority is to create a safe, nonjudgmental space where clients feel deeply heard and understood while also gently challenging them to explore new perspectives and possibilities. Therapy for me goes beyond symptom management. I’ll work together with clients to uncover who they are, what matters most to them, and how to build relationships and a life that feel authentic and fulfilling. I’ll help clients uncover patterns that may be keeping them stuck, and provide both meaningful insights and practical tools that can be applied in daily life. My approach is collaborative and empowering, supporting clients in taking confident steps toward the growth and change they’re seeking.

What you can expect from me

In the first few sessions of therapy I focus on building comfort, safety, and connection with clients. Part of this is orienting clients to how therapy works, discussing confidentiality, and answering any initial questions. Early sessions are also an opportunity for me to learn clients stories, including what has brought them to therapy, their current concerns, and the changes or goals they would like to work toward. I ask about personal history, life circumstances, and coping strategies that have been used in the past and together, we begin to clarify therapy goals that are both meaningful and achievable.

Therapy is collaborative. I will listen for themes and patterns in thoughts, emotions, and behaviors that may be contributing to clients current challenges which allow for deeper work and helping clients increase awareness of what keeps them feeling stuck. Practical tools and strategies are introduced and clients are encouraged to try new approaches, reflect on what works, and bring that feedback into our sessions.

The work of change requires establishing trust which takes time and clients will always have choice and control over how much they share and at what pace.
