Great to meet you!

I offer nine years of experience helping people work through trauma, anxiety, depression, PTSD, and the kind of stress that starts to feel like it is running your life. I also work with panic disorders, ADHD, and the ups and downs of pregnancy and postpartum. My style is warm and direct. I will listen closely, and I will also tell you what I actually think, because I have found that people heal faster when they are not left guessing.

Outside of the therapy room, I have been riding horses for 27 years, which has taught me a lot about patience, trust, and how progress rarely happens in a straight line. I play piano, and I will happily share the last musical I saw. I believe the things that bring us joy matter just as much as the things we are working to heal.

My approach to therapy

I draw from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Rational Emotive Behavior Therapy, and Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy to help you notice the thought patterns that keep you stuck and build ones that actually serve you. For trauma and PTSD, I am trained in EMDR, which can help your brain process painful memories so they stop hijacking your present. I also use Motivational Interviewing, especially when part of you wants change, and another part is not so sure. That tension is normal, and we can work with it instead of fighting it.

I do not believe in one-size-fits-all treatment. Some people want structure, homework, and a clear plan. Others need space to talk things out first. We will figure out together what works for you, and we will adjust as we go. I believe that everyone can find their colors within.

What you can expect from me

The first session is mostly about getting to know each other. I will ask what brought you in, what you have already tried, and what you are hoping will be different six months from now. You can share as much or as little as you feel ready to share. Nothing is required of you beyond showing up just as you are. We will figure out the rest together.

I know that first sessions can feel awkward or vulnerable, and I try to make mine feel more like a conversation than an intake interview. By the end, we will talk through what treatment could look like and what our next steps are, so you leave with a sense of direction rather than a list of unanswered questions. I strive to create a space where people feel comfortable and empowered to be their true selves, ask questions, and get to know themselves better. So, if you have questions for me, bring them. I am an open book!
