Great to meet you!

You're holding a lot. Maybe it shows up as anxiety that won't quit, patterns in relationships you can't seem to break, or a constant tension in your body that never fully goes away. You're not broken — you're carrying something that deserves real attention.

I'm Julia Tucker, a licensed therapist in California specializing in EMDR, perinatal mental health, and trauma-informed care. I work with caregivers, parents, entrepreneurs, and LGBTQ+ folks who are ready to stop managing their struggles and start actually healing them. My approach is holistic and whole-person — I believe your emotional wellbeing is connected to your relationships, your nervous system, your body, and your life circumstances, and I treat it that way.

Together we'll get to the root of what's keeping you stuck so you can feel grounded, clear, and genuinely like yourself again — not just better at coping.

If you're carrying more than you let on, you don't have to do it alone. I'd be honored to help.

My approach to therapy

My approach is collaborative, compassionate, and rooted in the belief that real healing happens when you feel safe, understood, and supported — not rushed or reduced to a diagnosis.

I primarily use EMDR therapy, one of the most researched and effective approaches for trauma, anxiety, and the patterns that keep showing up no matter how hard you try to change them. EMDR works by helping your nervous system process past experiences that may still be shaping how you feel, think, and respond today — often creating relief that talk therapy alone can't reach.

I take a holistic view of mental health, recognizing that what happens in your body, your relationships, and your daily life all matters. We'll build practical tools, explore deeper patterns, and work toward lasting change — not just symptom management.

What you can expect from me

The first session is about one thing: helping you feel comfortable enough to begin.

We'll talk about what brought you to therapy, what you're struggling with right now, and what you're hoping your life looks and feels like on the other side of this work. I may ask about your history, your relationships, and your current support system — not to overwhelm you, but to understand the full picture of who you are.

You don't need to have it all figured out before we start. You don't need the right words. You just need to show up — I'll take it from there. By the end of our first session you'll have a clearer sense of how we might work together and whether EMDR or another approach feels like the right fit for you.
