When we work together, we’ll first identify issues, and then use empirically proven approaches and strategies to work through those issues. I will also help guide you through problem-solving life’s many obstacles. My personal perspective on human functioning is that our thoughts guide our emotions, and our emotions control our behavior.
If we’d like to change our emotions or behavior successfully, we must take a look at our thoughts, including those deeper down in our subconscious. To accomplish this, I feel strongly that an essential part of our therapy work together is building a good client-clinician bond. Three major aspects of this bond are empathy, safety, and genuineness.
During therapy, I like to use logic, but I also use humor, create a safe space for healing and sharing, and I will be committed to helping you achieve your goals for therapy.
