Great to meet you!

Hi! I have been working with individuals in the mental health field for over 10 years now with five years of experience as a therapist. I received my undergrad degree from Temple University in Social Work and my graduate degree from the University of Southern California in Social Work. Currently I live in a rural area outside of Philadelphia, PA with my husband, 2 kids and 2 dogs! Growing up I spent a lot of time giving back to my community through volunteer work which inspired me to go into the SW field. I also learned that I loved working with people during my years working in a salon as a hairstylist. I enjoy working with young adults, new parents, and in general those experiencing anxiety and/or depression.

My approach to therapy

Understanding that everyone who comes to therapy is an individual who has unique needs has allowed me to adapt my approach to therapy to be customized to the needs of each client once we start working together. I have found that using cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) has been helpful in getting started with clients because it allows us to take a look at what is happening in the here and now that may be triggering and then customize treatment from there. My goal is to guide each client towards learning individualized skills in order to face challenges with confidence.

What you can expect from me

My goal at the end of each session is for each of my clients to feel validated and confident moving in between sessions. I like to come up with an action plan for in between sessions because I believe that is where a lot of individualized work happens. I strive to be politely direct and to bring some humor into our sessions because I know the therapeutic process can be uncomfortable at times and I want to ease those feelings as much as possible in order for the process to be successful.
