Julie Amoruso

My name is Julie Amoruso, and I am a psychiatric nurse practitioner (PMHNP). I specialize in working with individuals who struggle with mental health conditions. I help by providing medication management and counseling for mental health conditions for clients and support for families.

I have over 20 years of experience in health care and over 10 years of experience as an advanced practice nurse practitioner. Education: Samuel Merritt University and post graduate education with University of Massachusetts Boston and Regis College.

I offer medication management with supportive counseling for mental health care issues by virtual appointment and in-person appointments.

I work with clients who may be struggling and needing treatment for chronic pain, addiction, dementia, depression, anxiety, sleep disorders, schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, autism behavioral management, PTSD/trauma, and women's health issues. Most of my clients see a gradual lifting of symptoms within the first month and sustained improvement thereafter.

I often use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, in my practice. In your first session, we'll explore what brought you to therapy and then decide the most appropriate ways to help you make progress. With CBT, we'll look at how your thoughts affect your emotions and experience. During treatment, I'll help you learn how to push back against those thoughts to change your feelings for the better.
