Great to meet you!

You may look fine to the outside world but feel emotionally shut down, disconnected, or exhausted inside. I work with high-functioning individuals—especially men, trauma survivors, and those raised in rigid or high-demand families—who feel stuck in painful patterns they can’t name or break. With over 20 years of experience, I specialize in treating emotional suppression, religious trauma, intimacy struggles, and burnout. If you're tired of feeling unseen or numb, therapy can help you reconnect—with yourself, your partner, and the life you want to live.

I specialize in helping clients heal attachment wounds, relational trauma, and emotional shutdown using IFS, EMDR, EFT, ACT, DBT, psychodynamic therapy, and sex therapy. Whether you're struggling with intimacy, self-worth, or unresolved pain from childhood, we’ll build insight, trust, and lasting change—together. Julie Barbour is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in the State of Arizona and holds a Doctorate in Psychology.

My approach to therapy

The first session will be dedicated to the assessment, second the treatment plan, and then we can get to work!

What you can expect from me

It’s a privilege to hold space for my clients. Reaching out for help is an act of courage. If you’ve spent years trying to please others, manage shame, or live by rules that no longer serve you, let’s talk. Therapy can be hard—but it can also bring laughter, relief, and the joy of finally coming home to yourself.
